8×8 Digital Matrix Processor and Automatic Mixer


Designed specifically for installed sound, the Asystems’ DMP808 automatic mixers combine clean, simple designs with smart signal processing. Input on the DMP808 is achieved through professional-standard 3-pin euroblock connectors for balanced connections. Two sets of stereo RCA connectors are also included for extended application. All inputs and outputs are utilized through the flexible matrix routing system, controlled via the included user-intuitive PC software. This software also allows you to control the extensive on board signal processing, including 4-band parametric EQs, feedback silencers, duckers, noise-gates, compressors, limiters and, of course, automatic mixing including NOM (Number of Open Microphones) compensation. With flexible networking capabilities and highly accurate automixing, the DMP 808 automatic mixer is a must-have for all large commercial installations.

Flexible, User-Controllable Signal Processors

The Asystems DMP808 Matrix Processor leaves the competition in the dust with a lightning-fast 40-bit floating-point processor with internal sampling of 48kHz. Signal processing functions include assignable input and output limiters to prevent input overloading and provide speaker protection; 4-band sweetening EQ with high-and low-pass filters to remove unwanted low-end rumble or high-end hiss; 31-band graphic EQ to compensate for various room characteristics; and a feedback suppressor with 12 razor-thin filters to remove jarring feedback without compromising audio. For applications requiring spoken word along with program material, DMP808 software also includes ducking with four user-definable parameters.

Easy and Intuitive Software

With automatic level control and VCA sub-mixing for single-fader control of up to four separate mixes, The DMP808’s signal processing arsenal also provides installers with speaker management features, including time delay for speakers in large environments, crossover settings, detailed system performance monitoring, and signal generator for speaker calibration. Asystems control software also features event scheduling, programmable remote support and password protected user-accounts, so once your DMP808 is set to your preferences, it remains that way.

Fits Discretely in 1U of Rack Space

A large part of the DMP808’s initial design revolved around how we could fit as many features possible into a modest 1U product. The back panel is just loaded with connectors: inputs, outputs, remotes, peripherals, and the Dante networking option. The fact that Asystems engineers were able to jam 8 inputs and outputs into this system, while still maintaining the phenomenal signal processing that allows for matrix mixing as well as the numerous functions (EQs, dynamics, feedback silencer, etc) is nothing short of remarkable. The space-saving design gives you more room in your rack for other products – but with the bounty of features on board you may not need much else!

Optional Dante Connectivity

If you require more than eight channels or want to send signals over long distances, the DMP808 also offers 8x8-networking capabilities through the optional Dante networking card. Cutting-edge audio network technology from Audinate, Dante delivers uncompressed, low-latency, multi-channel digital audio to multiple locations over long distances. Dante-equipped DMP808 processors can send and receive eight channels of digital audio using a single Ethernet cable and can easily connect to other Dante-enabled devices. For flexible routing across multiple Dante-enabled units, connect your DMP808, DMP8800 or DMA systems to your local area network and control signals through the Audinate software.

Front Panel

The thin, attractive front panel of the DMP808 is brilliant in its simplicity. It features eight input and eight output LEDS, each paired with an individual rotary control. Underneath each level meter is a rotary gain control that adjusts input levels for each channel. The blue power LED will light up when the unit is activated. The front-panel power switch can be disabled from the Asystems control software, which activates a red LED indicator (also on the front panel). Once the physical power switch has been disabled, it can only be activated from the DMP808’s software control panel. This subtle but important feature prevents accidental shutdowns from wandering fingers. Integrated rack ears make the 1U DMP808 readily rack-mountable.
